I also hate "fiscal conservatism" (the phrase and the fact) and the Laffer Curve. I hate even more people who say "I'm socially liberal but fiscally conservative" as if this position represents the summit of good sense. Today "fiscal conservatism" just means supply-side economics. So lavish is my hatred that I'm thinking of becoming socially conservative just so I can say: "Oh, well, I'm a social conservative but a fiscal liberal."
